Description of Painting by Oswaldo Guayasamin
They are encompassed by an anguish. It hollows their cheeks and washes away the crimson tint that embodied the happy and healthy lives they once led. There is a lack of emotion that is even worse than the torture it has put them through. It finally surrenders, leaving them with only the feeling of utter despair. They have endured years of terror and pain. The confusion swallows them whole. All that remains is a scattered and disconnected culture that has experienced the ultimate low. However, even through all of the haze and emptiness, there is still the faint glimmer of hope. The worst is over.

This is an awesome piece of description. I remember which art piece you wrote about and I think that it describes it perfectly. I really enjoyed your use of personification for the various emotions. Although this isn't really what the rest of your writing sounds like, you really captured another descriptive voice which you should try to use more in your other writing! Great job!

The description here is phenomenal, especially with the part about the crimson being sucked away from them. I think that you shown how versatile of a writer you are through this piece. I say this because I would never see you as someone who would describe depression, but you nailed it perfectly. Honestly, I got a little depressed reading this, which made the end even better. Also, I think if Oswaldo Guayasamin had read this he would be proud. great job, Robyn!
This is great! The hallow checks really matched up well with the painting. I felt like you could have been a bit more original at parts just by switching a couple words but thats all. Great pick for your writing
